The History of Huanglong

1. In 2,600 B.C.Changyi, the son of Huang Di(the Yellow Emperor), married the daughter of Shushan Clan(or Cancong Clan, a dan in the area of Sichuan in the ancient)-the earliest written record about the upper Min River.
2. In 566, North Zhou government set up the Fuzhou Local Office at today's Huanglong Township.
3. In 1403, Ma Chaojin, an army general of Ming Dynasty, organized people to build the Huanglong Temple and the Fuyuan Bridge in Huanglong Valley.
4. In 1934, the Songpan county's government of Kuomintang put a big stone at the entrance of Huanglong Valley to protect Huanglong Scenic Area.
5. On November 8, 1982, Huanglong was listed as National Key Scenic Spot.
6. In 1982, the provincial government approved to establish Sichuan Songpan Huanglong Nature Reserve.
   Huanglong-Jiuzhaigou Scenic and Historic Interest Area was listed among the first group of 44 State-level Sight-seeing area.
