Jiuzhaigou, which literally means Nine Village Valley, is located in Sichuan Province and is one of China's hottest destinations. If you take a trip to Sichuan Province, visiting Jiuzhaigou is an absolute must. It is known for its outstanding plateau landscapes and folk customs. True to its name, there really are nine Tibetan villages within the boundaries of Jiuzhaigou: Panxin, Rize, Yacuo, Panya, Zechawa, Heijiao, Shuzheng, Heye, and Zharu.
Some of the most captivating landscapes on earth can be found at Jiuzhaigou. The area encompasses two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, three state-level scenic spots, and eight provincial-level nature reserves and scenic areas. The most famous are: Jiuzhaigou Park, Huanglong Park, Four Maidens Mountain, and the Wolong Panda Nature Reserve.
The valley is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, covered with verdant, primeval forests and peppered with more than a hundred lakes and ponds of various sizes. Colorful lakes and various waterfalls are highlights in Jiuzhaigou.
